It appears the server that the board is on is down at the moment. We haven't been able to ascertain what the problem is or when it might be resolved, but hopefully soon! Will post any updates if we get them. Thanks!

Thanks, Luna. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Ours (U.S.) isn't until the end of November. Do you eat turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, etc.? I usually go to the local all-you-can-eat feeding trough and let someone else do the cooking. Thanks so much for your faithful service with the board Citygal

I'm glad to see some of you made it here! I hate thinking that people are out there not knowing what is going on and can't log on. It's been like five days now. That's crazy. I think we have to consider whether we should continue with this host or not. I want the old board back too!! citygal thanks so much for your kind words! Yes our Thanksgiving is similar although I guess it is not as big of a deal as it is in the US. ie. there is no "Black Friday", parades, football etc. but it is a day when families gather and eat a big meal, usually involving turkey, squash, sweet potato, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy...well the works! This was the first Thanksgiving I had at home in about ten years so it was really nice.

Ok, so now that many of us are here, I will jump in with a Safe Haven item - update on upstairs neighbor situation. Last week, due to the continued thumping and bumping and dropping of heavy things on the hardwood floor, I just couldn't take it anymore and went up there to ask them to please take it easy. I initially spoke to the grown son (who by the way I find creepy, he's very strange looking like a big empty shell and just stares at me completely unresponsive like nobody is home and barely speaks and when he does it's in a thin high little voice). The dad was just in a tizzy, came raging out at me from the back like a charging bull with huge booming voice yelling that he's tired of my complaints and not to come up there anymore. He yelled at the son not to let me in and that he doesn't want to talk to me. He yelled don't come up here any more, tell them (by "them" I assumed he meant the condo management company). It shook me up quite a bit so DH went up there when he got home from work to further talk to them. The guy was still very emotional and yelling. Apparently they have put down a small rug for the kid to run around on (so he's not making so much noise on the wood floor) and have tried to be quieter, altho I haven't noticed any difference whatsoever. I felt bad that he was so upset so I went up there to apologize. He was hiding out in his room and communicated through the (torn) screen, totally unreceptive and still carrying on like a big baby. Anyway, I've done what I can do. In the future I will do what he said and take it to the management company. So last Friday I called the mgmt company and discussed the situation. They said they can write a noise violation letter. However, they also said their records don't even show them as the owners; they still show the deceased mother. So they will need to get proof of ownership. Hah! That means they might be considered to be squatting and really get in trouble. Stay tuned.

Well considering today's news I guess this is it for those of us that are here and knew about the back-up board. So yes please do post as you would normally!
Citygal, well good for you for speaking up, I'm sure that took quite a bit of courage to do that! I can't believe their reaction though. Usually people are apologetic and will try to be accommodating!! It sounds like they may be in a fair bit of trouble with the management company. I'm so sorry you have to live with such people as neighbours, and especially right above you!! :/

I heard the news about the new board...sucks to hear we lost all our data...sometimes, I like to go back and read older posts . As a librarian, losing data makes me sad... Citygal, your upstairs neighbors sound really sketchy. Hopefully they will be kicked out and replaced with quieter neighbors LOL
